"I had been admiring this ring set for years and finally decided to purchase it for myself with my husband's and my name. The set arrived very quickly, but upon opening the box I realized they sent the correctly engraved ring, but the inner ring was a tear drop shaped stone in a light blue color. Not sure how that's possible since they store these as sets I'm sure. I called the customer service return line and they were able to replace it with the correct stone ring. Customer Service is excellent!!!
I purchased this in a size 8, so I don't have to wear this instead of my wedding ring. I can wear them all together on different fingers.
I do have to note that this is silver, so it will tarnish over time if you let it sit out in the open. I spoke to a lady that sells silver jewelry. She said the ONLY way to keep silver shiny (other than polishing) is to wear it on a regular basis. I love the concept so much I plan on it anyway.
Now, I gave this set a 3 out of 5 stars because the craftsmanship is not as crisp as it appears on the picture and I know for many people (myself included) the picture is what sold me on this set. Anyway, the ring is not as large as I thought, but I can deal with it as it makes it look more dainty (and easy to pair with outfits) and less like costume jewelry. If you want something big and showy, this is not the set for you, sorry. The engraving was etched deep enough, but crudely, so when you get your set it may look kind of like a very skilled child did this. Not sure how else to described it, but I've seen better engraving on craft sites. I was surprised that scorched on residue (like soot) surrounded the names. The way to fix this is just to buff it with your fingers. or a soft cloth (not sure why they couldn't do this, since they go through the trouble of packaging it rather nicely). The engraving itself, because it is done by hand (I assume) on such a small item, will not be perfectly centered. If you need it to be this way, just buy the plain set and go to a local engraving shop and save yourself buyer's remorse. As for the garnet heart, because they have to affix it to the ring somehow, it too can look imperfect. The bit of silver at the top does not come down perfectly, so it looks more like a half-hearted (no pun intended) attempt at what a heart is supposed to look like.
I could have lived with all of this and just called it a 4 out of 5. BUT, this is a review so others can gauge their purchase so let's be honest, even with the stellar customer service the less than picture perfect quality, failure to touch-up residue, off center engraving, and sorta heart shape cannot earn this no more than a 3. I would have given it all 5, because I really like this ring set but I wanted to LOVE it. Again, I have to be honest and the great customer service could not save all the little imperfections.
Good thing it was on sale and I had a coupon. Otherwise the whole thing would have gone back. Good item, all in all, but I expect a higher quality craftsmanship when I come to this website. I may buy another with my son's first and middle name... but I am making no promises!!! As for recommending this: If you are a picky online buyer, and you NEED this to look JUST like the picture, I would pass on this. If you like artisan jewelry however, and don't mind playing RedEnvelope Roulette, it is a good buy. No one's perfect and neither is this set, so I would recommend this to people who are willing to accept this."
