"I loved this necklace in silver, which I bought a few years ago after the birth of my second child, until a few things happened, which other reviewers have mentioned. The metal scratches easily because they sit on top of each other and rub against each other. Also, the birthstones fade until they are the same nondescript color. And now, with the birth of my 3rd child, I find that they are only selling "May" but my child was born in July. So, now I have to go buy an entirely different necklace because I decided to have another child. Maybe they stopped making these because of the problems people have had with them. It did look very nice from far away, though."

Stone fell out after a while January 05, 2012
"My husband gave this to me in silver as a gift a few years ago, and I love it! It was the perfect complement to anything I wore, dressy or casual. I wore it often and received many compliments on it. However, a few months ago, the stone fell out! I stopped wearing it for a while, and it has tarnished a bit, but it will polish up again after wearing it. To be honest, I haven't tried having the stone put back in yet... if I still have it, it's so small! But it is still a pretty piece. I have quite a few pieces of jewelry from Red Envelope and it's generally good quality. I am disappointed that the quality of this necklace isn't up to snuff..."

"I purchased this for myself in silver, with 2 charms. After less than a month one lost it's stone. They sent me a new one, and about a month later the second one lost it's stone. That time they sent me a whole new necklace, with out requesting the other be returned. Unfortunately, only one charm has a stone now, but it is so unique I still wear it all the time. Even without the stone, I really like this and am considering getting in gold."

"This is the perfect necklace in silver! I have had to polish my first only one time in 2 years, and my second one I have not yet had to polish and have had it for 5 months now. And, I wear it constantly. I never take it off, not to shower or sleep! It is as permanent as my wedding rings. And with all that wear it holds up perfectly. I have it on my own sterling chain so I can not comment about the chain. But the charms are wonderful. I can't wait to keep adding charms to it as our family grows."

"I've only had the gold chain w/ birthstone pendant for a week, but so far, so good! I've gotten a lot of compliments on it already. The weight of the pendant is nice and it's a bonus that the chain has 3 length options. The only negative is that the closure on the chain is a little tough to open."

"I got this necklace in gold for a gift for having our third child. After only a few times wearing it, the gold has tarnished and looks black in spots and blemished in others. It looks so bad I will never wear it again. I have tried cleaning it up, but no luck. I will not be buying any more jewelry from Red Envelope."

"I bought this with 3 pieces. All three scratched easily. The stones got super cloudy after just weeks, and I had to seperate the disks with beads to seperate them. Too much work!! Looks great from the picture, as long as you only buy one disk. Buy more and the disks sit on top of each other..."

a beautiful piece! I bought this in gold as a gift for my mother-in-law and the picture does not do it justice. It's absolutely gorgeous. The gold shines beautifully and is definitely a gift a woman of any age can wear and look stunning. It looked so great, I am definitely getting one for myself. A great personal touch to do the engraving. I highly recommend this one!
