While pocket watches were invented in 16th century England, it was not until the late 17th century that they became more common and accurate. The watches were incredibly big and were generally worn around the neck because of their girth. It is rumored that the famous painting of Henry VIII was not a medallion around his neck, but a pocket watch. A modern take on the original, this pocket watch’s inside face watch shows the skeleton, so you can watch its movements. The watch’s classic design features brushed chrome plating, making it a great keepsake to pass on to future generations.

"My kids got this for Father's Day and my husband loved it and the inscription. He carried it with him that afternoon as we made the rounds to our father's homes. After we had returned home, it was suddenly open in his pocket (there was nothing else in his pocket). The clasp had broken and would no longer close. I'm still waiting on a replacement - it seems to take longer than an original order before a holiday (go figure). The customer service when I called was great, but hoping the replacement lasts longer than an afternoon!"

"OMG!!! This is the best gift that I have ever given to anyone. I bought this as a groom's gift. I gave it to my new husband. I left it on our bed for him to open the night before our wedding. "The gift was wrapped beautifully, but there was information on the outside the told him what was in the box so it took away some of the surprise. The part that clips to the chain popped off but he was able to fix it, the other problem is that even though he winds it, as recommended, it loses time as the day progresses. I am disappointed to think that not only was my surprise slightly spoiled, he had not even had it 24 hours when the chain popped off and right around 24 hours when he noticed that it was losing time."

Very nice gift I purchased the pocket watch for my husband in celebration of our anniversary. The quality is very nice. It arrived very quickly--even with the personal engraving I had ordered. This is a great gift for a husband, Dad, etc. I recommend it highly--go for the gift box/wrap--Red Envelope does a terrific job with the overall presentation.
