While pocket watches were invented in 16th century England, it was not until the late 17th century that they became more common and accurate. The watches were incredibly big and were generally worn around the neck because of their girth. It is rumored that the famous painting of Henry VIII was not a medallion around his neck, but a pocket watch. A modern take on the original, this pocket watch’s inside face watch shows the skeleton, so you can watch its movements. The watch’s classic design features brushed chrome plating, making it a great keepsake to pass on to future generations.

"My kids got this for Father's Day and my husband loved it and the inscription. He carried it with him that afternoon as we made the rounds to our father's homes. After we had returned home, it was suddenly open in his pocket (there was nothing else in his pocket). The clasp had broken and would no longer close. I'm still waiting on a replacement - it seems to take longer than an original order before a holiday (go figure). The customer service when I called was great, but hoping the replacement lasts longer than an afternoon!"

"OMG!!! This is the best gift that I have ever given to anyone. I bought this as a groom's gift. I gave it to my new husband. I left it on our bed for him to open the night before our wedding. "The gift was wrapped beautifully, but there was information on the outside the told him what was in the box so it took away some of the surprise. The part that clips to the chain popped off but he was able to fix it, the other problem is that even though he winds it, as recommended, it loses time as the day progresses. I am disappointed to think that not only was my surprise slightly spoiled, he had not even had it 24 hours when the chain popped off and right around 24 hours when he noticed that it was losing time."

"I ordered this for my husband and it arrived in the gift box (SO worth it!). He was immediately impressed with the look, feel and weight. The only 2 concerns were that the instructions say to wind counter clockwise, but it doesn't keep the time correctly that way. Clockwise is working just fine. Also, I requested an inscription in Spanish, but was not able to have accent marks. Otherwise, this is a great gift!"

His birthday is around Father's Day and He is a hard guy to buy for... He is a railroad man (retired) 85 yrs old. When I was young he carried a pocket watch. I decided that I would get him another because his wristwatch just does not look right (on him). He loved this watch!! HE took it to church and showed it to his friends... I was happy with how classy and expensive it looked. I wished that the engraving was a little deeper I guess or more visible. It was a little hard to see and/or read. Other than that small issue (mine not his) This was a great gift.....Wish for 1/2 stars. This is really 4 1/2 stars"

"The watch itself is beautiful and the gift packaging was great. However, the Monogram on the front of the watch was very poor. the spacing was WAY off. The first two letters looked great but there was a huge gap between the middle letter and the last. I am not please with this at all, I wish I would have had it done at the mall so I could see it before I gave it as a gift."
