"It's cute... but I'm glad I got it with a credit rather than paying for it myself. It isn't near as pretty as it looks in the picture - looks a little cheap. Had I paid the full amount I would have been unhappy. However, I got it with a credit from someone else so it's not too bad."

"What a perfect gift for my daughter who has been divorced for 4 years and was estranged from her family and a battered woman. She's returned to her family..symbol of tree on front.. perfect (family & strength), uneven edges of piece (not all of life goes smoothly), brass piece (we all get knocked down and life is bumpy). On the back of the pewter piece I had engraved .."new beginnings!". She cried when she received it and wears it often. Loved the pearl on the end link..we're not perfect but there is beauty within us even if we don't see it but God does! I gave her this exact message as a reminder of the woman she is but doesn't know it yet..strong, valuable to us and the world and oh so loved!"

"Package was received in a relatively timely manner. Item came in a nice red box with a pretty white ribbon. That was the best part. The jewelry itself is nothing fancy just ok. The chain it comes with is really short so when you put it on it resembles more of a choker than a low slung necklace(which my wife and I prefer). The hammered discs look better in the picture. The brass disc is wafer thin which is kind of a put off. The silver disc with the mighty oak is cute, sentimental, symbolic, and strong all at the same time. This was the main reason for the purchase. We will keep the purchase but switch the chain for a more elegant one. All in all it was an ok purchase."

"This necklace was the perfect gift for the right person. It features an oak, for Oakland in this case, and a gold (brass) background coin, for California in this case. Wherever she goes it will remind her, and tell others, she is from Oakland, California, a city in trouble but a city she loves. Workmanship and styling are fine. Second necklace she has got from Red Envelope. The first she has worn almost constantly for several years. I expect the same with this."

Mighty Oak I bought this for my best friend because she is having big life issues right now that are draining her. The oak symbolizes not only her strength but all of her friends who will be there for her--kind of like the roots and branches. She loves it and wears it daily as a talisman.
