Gorgeous bag! date: February 15, 2012
"This bag is wonderful! Beautiful leather, reinforced in all the right places, plenty of pockets! Looks and feels like the type of luggage you just can't find anymore. Will only get better with age and already feels like an old friend. If you never want to have to buy another leather bag or if you love fine leather and appreciate the best, this is the one!"

"The duffle bag is not of high quality. It looks like fake leather. I was embarrased to even give it as a gift. Will never purchase from Red Envelope again."

Leather excursion duffle bag date: December 28, 2011
"My husband travels Mon - Thur but wanted a leather weekend bag separate from his normal travels. This duffle fit the bill perfectly! He was thrilled with the various pockets and impressed with the size of the bag. It is large enough for weekend clothes but small enough for a carry on. And we both like the fact that the bag has a distressed look to begin with... as we will just continue that trend. I would highly recommend this product!"

exactly what I was searching for date: December 27, 2011
"My husband wanted a leather duffle for Christmas and I decided on this one after exhausting all my usual places (J. Crew, L.L. Bean, Orvis, etc.). This one was by far the best deal for the money with all leather construction and metal hardware. It's comparable in quality to his vintage Orvis leather briefcase, which is saying a lot. It's much roomier than it looks, and we were very pleased with the leather quality. While I can't yet comment on its durability, I'd definitely recommend it based on size, quality and price. And it's a great looking bag!"

Update to previous review date: December 12, 2011
"This is an update to my previous review. At the time I wrote it, my husband had not yet opened his present. We had an early present exchange this year, and I just had to report how much he loved the bag.I knew he liked to have pockets in his bags, and that was the first thing he checked out when he opened up the box. One pocket I had entirely overlooked, which is the full size slot pocket at the back. He noticed it right away and thought it would be a great place to store his e-reader, books, and other entertainment devices he uses on the plane. He said usually he has to store his bag overhead these days, and it would be convenient to just slip out what he needed for the trip before stowing his luggage. He had packed for a 3 day trip just prior to our opening our presents and he liked the duffle so much he repacked into it. I had watched him pack the first bag and he had packed much more stuff than he normally carries. It was three days of clothing plus three days of workout clothing, and a few extra shirts for layering. I was surprised that all that stuff fit into the leather duffle. It was quite full but could maybe even hold a bit more. And it was so much more compact than the bag he had packed in originally."

Wow! date: December 03, 2011
"To say my husband is a road warrior would be to put it mildly. He travels every week at least 3 days a week. Because he is such a serious traveller, I never dare to buy him suitcases or bags. He's very particularly about what he uses and his gear is ultra functional. However, when I saw this bag, I just thought, "Wow, that is perfect for him." The size of the bag, the quality, the number and placement of the pockets. It just looked so usable and so easy to carry around. The bag is not too big but could hold a couple of days clothes easily. One of the reviews of this bag was very negative, and I was nervous about ordering this from Red Envelope because even though I have had amazing experience with them for other gifts (I ordered all the wedding party gifts for my wedding from them), I just wasn't sure about buying leather goods - and such expensive ones - from a gift company. But no other company had a bag exactly like this one.Today it arrived in the mail and I was just so happy with the quality. It is exactly as pictured. This is a little unstructured, which is what I wanted. It doesn't hold the shape stiff with nothing inside, but it doesn't just flop over either. The leather is about twice the thickness of glove leather. From the picture, I couldn't tell exactly how the front pockets work. The front pockets don't snap, the tabs feed through the metal bracket and then you press the hole in the tab over a brad in the pocket. The side pockets, however, have a big, sturdy snap. We'll see how this plays out for travel, but it seems like it's a smart design so someone could reach down and easily get into the front pockets.I'm still waiting to see how my husband reacts when he gets it but I had to post a review right away because if anyone is hesitating because of the one negative review, don't. It's just like the picture and really good quality."

Poor Quality date: November 19, 2011
"I bought this for my husband as a gift. When I received the bag, I was shocked at how different it looked compared to the online photo. The leather is very thin, has a fake leather look and is backed by cheap looking material. I hoped it would look better once out of the package and fluffed up a bit, but no, absolutely not. The duffle bag has no structure.I am very disappointed and would never recommend this product to anyone. For something that cost this much I expect much higher quality. On the flip side, it was easy to return and I am very happy with the customer service!"
