Cute but how functional December 03, 2012
"Bees are great to have around especially in the spring and summer to gather what it takes to make honey. Your problem is with out a queen bee no self respecting bee would try and make a home. A real bee hive has only 1 queen and the bees take very good care of her. To suggest a lone bee will stop by and make a home is incorrect. In a real hive the worker bees face the queen at all times. All current activity in a hive takes place around the queen. So set the bee house anywhere you want but do not expect a bee to stop by."

"I ordered this as a gift so I have not used it, but it is exactly as I expected it to be. It's a very nice size and seems to be a well made quality piece. I really wish it came with some sort of instructions such as where the best spot to put it and if anything helps attract bees."

"Purchased for my mom for Mother's Day. She loved it so much she has it on a table in her home. She'll take it outside in the next month or so. Not sure if it will serve as a bee hotel or just be decorative. However, my mom loves bees and she definitely loved this bee house."

Product needs to be redesigned. May 16, 2012
"I purchased this product as a gift idea. i took it to my bee keeper friend to place some honey comb into it to stimulate bee activity. He stated the item is too small to function as a bee hive. it attractive but i will be returning it as not functional. too bad it looked quite nice (yes too small). The opposite argument might be made that i did not actually try it out and i did not as i wanted to be able to return it versus a bummer gift."

"Bought as a mom's day gift. She loved it, but said she was confused. Didn't know if it was functional or just decorative. No explaination or directions sent. So, she chose to be safe and make it decorative on her enclosed patio. Mom said it was large, heavy and good quality. I guess I better make a special visit out there to help her hang it outside for the poor homeless bees."
