The joys of motherhood are celebrated in this sterling-silver pendant depicting mom’s loving arms in the shape of a heart. The birthstones represent her little angels and slip on in the center of the pendant. Exclusively from RedEnvelope.

"I bought this for my niece who was having her first baby knowing that she would most likely have another. She LOVED it and was so happy with it wore it all the time. Then she had another baby and she has a step son that she asked me to get an additional stone for him, only problems was you dont have any of these stones available. Please re order your stones so i can buy them for her to add to this necklace. Then I will be glad to change my review to FIVE STARS!!! Oh and assembly was not an issue she said it was super easy. "I ordered "Motherhood Birthstone Necklace Pendant with two stones" and no chain. I received two stones and nothing else. One stone was fine and just as it should be. The other stone looked like a purple piece of plastic and was meant to be a Ruby. It is still unknown why there was no mother pendant, but perhaps the description was misleading and when it said no chain that also meant no pendant, but when the item is called Motherhood Pendant, that's not what I expected. However, the customer service woman that I spoke to was awesome. She agreed with my confusion and the images that I sent and worked out a refund immediately. Dealing with someone like that easily made me willing to buy from Red Envelop again."

"It was probably stated in a previous review that I failed to see, but the birthstones are added to the pendant by bending the left-hand side of the heart. The heart splits kind of like a keyring. We found this out accidentially because the pendant got hooked on my wife's sweater and the heart bent open. Maybe that is a worthy comment in of itself. The birthstone comes on a closed ring that is looped into the heart. The problem now is that the heart doesn't close all the way. My wife thought I was giving her a pendant of a cutlass sword at first. She didn't see the mother with her arms in the shape of a heart. What does that say about her? :-) Overall it's a nice pendant, but it would have been nice to know these things before hand."

"I purchased a different "motherhood" necklace last Christmas from a different company and my mom loved it. However, I know she really wanted birthstones so when I saw this I had to buy it! She is really happy with it and thinks it is beautiful. I put the stones on the pendant for her and they were kind of a pain to attach because of how small they are, but the effect is very nice. Two of the stones ordered were supposed to be Aquamarine, but one of them had very little blue hue at all. She decided not to return for a new one, but I was still a little upset at the color differences between the two same gemstones."

"The necklace was Ok - however, the birthstones were not all facing the same way!! Nor were they in the proper order as I had listed them in my order!! Some were facing to the rear. Some were facing forward. The 2 Feb gems were together!! All wanted to fall Behind the pendant so as not to be very visible. I wound up taking it to a local Jeweler, who took it all apart & put it back together again. This time with the stones in their proper order & all facing forward!! I definitely would NOT recommend this company or product to anyone else!!!"

"Bought this for my mother-in-law for her first Christmas as a new grandma. She had requested a (grand) mother's necklace to which she could add stones as more grandkids arrived. I liked this necklace because the stones were relatively inexpensive regardless of the month, unlike others where the price could increase considerably based on the birthstone needed. She enjoyed it and we hope to add a new stone in a few months."

"First I'm not sure why so many reviewers had problems with assembly. The card clearly reads where the stones can be attached and as long as you line them up properly it took only a minute or two to get all three stones on. LOVE the idea that more can be added. Thats what appealed to us more than other birthstone gifts. Affordable, available within days of ordering and came in a beautiful box perfect for a gift!"

"I received this item as a gift. Opened it up to find the pieces separate (which was OK), but I had to come out to this site to figure out what it was supposed to look like (is it a necklace and then some separate gem pendants?) and how it all went together. I did not receive the "story" card that explained any of it. The product seems good (although after putting on my gems, I don't think the arms align as nicely as they did before I put the gems on), but the packaging definitely leaves something to be desired!"

"I bought this as a Mother's Day gift for my Mother-In-Law and I wish it has arrived in person as nice as it looks online. We ordered 3 stones with the necklace and we paid to have it gift boxed...well the necklace and the stones came separately. There were no instructions about how to attach the stones through the arms of the pendant and my 67-year-old Mother-In-Law had to look up instructions on line. Then once she got them on, they weren't in the order she wanted (we ordered them to come in birth order and that's what she wanted on her necklace). Sadly, it was such a pain for her to get them on she didn't want to have to take them all off and start over. I think this necklace should arrive COMPLETE and in the order it was requested. We paid for a complete gift and we paid for gift boxing. Red Envelope needs to improve the service on this one. I would not buy it again."

"The motherhood birthstone necklace is beautiful! It's great that one can purchase additional birthstones for it and the cost isn't too expensive. The design is very unique and the chain/stones are very nice quality. My only complaint is that I wish it had arrived on my mom's door already put together. It just doesn't look as pretty separate and I wanted it to look like the necklace in the picture when it arrived since it was a gift. My mom is not overly technical so she had no idea how to get the birthstones onto the necklace (and there were no directions)."

"I selected this item with 4 stones for my wife as a gift for Mother's Day. She was VERY happy with it and had no problems figuring out how to attach the charms. The only issue we had (which lowers the rating by 1 star) is that they sent one of the wrong stones, and when my wife called to let them know, she was told they weren't even on backorder so she'd have to wait a week and call back. I believe that something like this should be able to be handled so that as soon as another shipment arrives, the correct one will be sent to us instead of requiring us to followup again."

"Presentation box is very nice, came with a quality chain, the pendent nice, birthstone Citrine stone was nice and radiant. The second birhtstone I ordered was Emerald. This stone was of extremely poor quality. It is milky green and dull with absolutley no radiant luminosity, no sparkle. It looks like an inexpensive plastic resin. Very disappointing. My wife loved this gift."

"I am not sure why this comes unassembled and the stone attachments are already closed. I had to pay to have a jeweler cut to attach. I know that more can be added and it makes sense they would come separate, but when you originally order, it should come assembled. I don't recall reading "assembly required" when I purchased. I love the idea of this necklace, and I would have been extremely embarassed if I hadn't opened it ahead of time and gave it unassembled!"

We apologize that you had an unsatisfactory experience with your purchase. The stone attachment rings are closed shut to prevent them from coming loose from the pendant. The stone attachment rings slip on and off in the center of the pendant. Please note that the top portion of the heart overlaps itself and does not completely close to allow this action. This is also stated in our product description and in the included story card. The item is shipped unassembled to prevent any damage that may occur during shipping. We apologize for failing to mention that there is minor assembly required, which is easily completed by the wearer. There is no need to take the necklace to a jeweler. We have corrected our product description and regret if this was unclear.

"The necklace and birthstones arrived on time as ordered. Attractive packaging. Items seemed as described. PROBLEM:the gift is unassembled. At this price, it should arrive assembled with the stones in the same order as the order form. I had to bend the angel's arm a bit to insert the gemstones and then the arm would not lie flat again.It is a soft enough metal that I could bend the arm back with tiny pliers, but they left a mark on the shiny arm."
