Imprints didn't work well May 20, 2013
"The imprint material was very spongy and didn't work well. it was difficult to roll flat and the impression didn't last. It was almost like trying to leave a hand print in a marshmallow - it just bounced back. I didn't have any issues with the imprint material sticking as others have reported. I like the idea, however. The frame looks nice and it's super easy to assemble. I went to the craft store and bought some modeling clay & plaster of paris to try instead. For the cost I expected the hand & foot impressions to work better."

Clay doesn't work May 20, 2013
"I almost rated this a 2 because the frame that comes with it is really nice, but where 90% of this gift fails is with the clay imprint material it comes with. It simply does not work, I tried roughly 15 times to get imprints of both my sons feet and hands, and no matter how many times i rolled out the clay, no matter the thickness, no matter how HARD I pushed his little feet into it, the material would just slowly swell back up. Each time we made an imprint, easily within 5min the imprint was virtually gone or to the point where you couldn't tell what it was. It's like trying to make an imprint in a marshmallow. It's a great idea, and the clay is definitely mess-free, but whatever it's made out of is seems to have to much air in it? Basically I bought a really expensive picture frame, and went to a craft store and bought a real imprint kit to do the impressions. As I said, really nice frame, but the imprint clay is completely worthless. Cannot recommend anyone to buy this. A three frame picture frame and an imprint kit from a craft store runs cheaper then this kit, I'm sorry to say."

Beautiful Item, Great Gift May 16, 2013
"I purchased this item for my sister as a Mothers Day present. She had just given birth to my beautiful nephew just 12 days before Mothers Day. This was a wonderful gift idea and she loved it. The material that it came with to make the impressions wasn't horrible like other reviews had stated. However, the process of making the casts was rather difficult on a newborn. Keep this in mind when purchasing this item. The item itself was PERFECT."

Great product!! May 16, 2013
"This product was the perfect first mother's day gift for my wife. It made her cry! I guess RedEnvelope changed the clay for the imprints because ours turned out perfect. No sticky mess, easy to work with, and it came out perfect. I would recommend this to anybody. And if you are having second thoughts because of the quality of the clay I wouldn't worry about it. It was so easy to work with!!!"

Great First Mother's Day Gift May 16, 2013
"Got this for my wife for her first Mother's Day. She loved the look of the frame and the molding clay was very easy to work with. Our little one was not very happy holding out her hands & feet but we were able to get the impressions very quickly. Great product, highly recommended."

Not what I expected May 15, 2013
"Frame is not wood, just a smooth plastic. Foam for prints tends to puff out as it dries, and print is all but lost. This sounded like a great idea, but product needs some work for the rather high price."

Don't waste your time May 11, 2013
"The impression material provided was difficult to use and after numerous tries the hand and foot prints still looked Awful. I would have been better off buying a frame and different material rather than wasting my time and money on this garbage. Save yourself the time, money and aggravation."

Good Keepsake May 08, 2013
"It was difficult to get the clay out of the package - it was sticky. Otherwise, it is great. There is enough clay to make a third print to give to Grandma."

May 02, 2013
"We have purchased this item for all 4 of our children. There have been times where the "clay" has been hard to work with, and I believe for one child I may have purchased Crayola air-dry dough to use as the packaged stuff did not work. My only complaint, and this would be for other purchasers to know, is that over 9 years and 4 children, the frame thickness has changed, and most recently, the color changed. Our first two children ( 2004 and 2007) have matching frames. Our last two (2010 and 2013) have thicker frames, and the last one has a darker espresso. I love the wood look and color, but may have to paint them to match. I would have appreciated it if Red Envelope would have noted this in their description, as it seems others have had the same problem. If you plan to use this for all of your children and want to hang them together, you may want to purchase several at the same time. Otherwise, I am pleased with this purchase and look forward to doing imprints #4 with our #4!"

A Lasting Memory This product was the most talked about gift at my granddaughter's baby shower. I wish I could have had such a great gift when I was her age, having a first baby. I would strongly recommend this to anyone.
